Fluorescent Fiber Optic 4.3-inch Display

  • The fluorescent fiber-optic temperature monitoring system is designed for the early prediction of faults and fires in high-voltage power equipment—such as high-voltage switchgear, disconnect switches, cable joints, and transformers—that are caused by insulation aging or poor electrical contact. Equipment such as switchgear, disconnect switches, cable joints, and transformers operate under high-current and high-voltage conditions; consequently, their electrical operating environments are relatively harsh (characterized by significant electromagnetic interference, including electromagnetic field radiation, surges, and electrical pulses). However, optical fibers possess inherent characteristics such as electrical insulation, intrinsic safety, and immunity to electromagnetic interference. This allows the sensor probes to be installed directly in contact with the specific measurement points, thereby enabling “zero-distance” monitoring of temperature anomalies in switch contacts and cable joints to predict potential faults and prevent the occurrence of electrical fires.
